Vaccinations & Heartworm Injections
Cats and dogs are at risk for a number of serious iral diseases. A simple vaccination program can easily protect them from many potentially fatal diseases.
For cats, the vaccination protects against feline Herpies Virus, Calici Virus (Cat-Flu), panleucopenia, Feline AIDS (FIV) and Feline leukaemia virus. These illnesses can be fatal. In addition we offer a recently developed vaccination against feline Immunodifficiency Virus (FIV) - the feline equivalent of the human AIDS virus.
For dogs, the vaccination protects against canine parvovirus, canine distemper, canine hepatitis and kennel cough. Parvovirus and distemper are deadly (parvovirus within as little as 24hrs of contraction) and hepatitis can cause long term kidney, liver and brain damage. We offer a C4 (4 part) vaccination, or a C5 (5 part) vaccination. The C5 includes additional kennel cough protection and is required in order to board your dog at most kennels. We will be happy to discuss which vaccination is best for your pet. Maximum protection can be achieved within 2 weeks after the last vaccination. Therefore it is important to keep your pet away from poblic area such as parks and shops before the full vaccination.
In addition to vaccinations, we offer an annual proheart injection to protect your dog from heartworm disease. By choosing the annual injection, you will no longer have to worry about remembering daily or monthly tablets and your pet's protection against heartworm will be ensured.

Desexing
We highly recommend having your pet desexed at around 6 months of age for cats and small breed dogs, or around 8-10 months for large breed dogs. The process includes a consultation and pre-anaesthetic examination, day hospitalization, the surgery procedure, and a follow-up visit. With the desexing procedure, we also offer I/V fluids and additional 24hr pain relief.
Pre-anaesthetic blood tests are available to ensure that the surgery proceeds smoothly. These tests are in particular recommended for geriatric patients and pets with certain health conditions. We also recommend I/V fluids for any surgeries. This will prevent the blood pressure to drop (hypotension) during surgery. It is also an improtant way to give a pet vital injections in case of an emergency during surgery.

We perform in-house blood analysis so that you receive the results within just a few hours. These tests include complete health profiles, pre-anaesthetic profiles, and senior pet wellness tests. In addition to the automated chemical analysis, we also use microscopic analysis to look for abnormalities.
